Let's work together!
First-Please take a moment and look at my page "How to prepare my quilt for longarm quilting"
***I will be on vacation for the month of October so as of 9/5/2023 any new quilts dropped off will not be returned until mid-November.
To get started, fill out the form below.
What size should my backing be?
Here's an easy way to remember: Four-for-four! :) I require the backing to be 4" extra ON ALL SIDES. For example, if you have a quilt top that is 60" x 80", your backing should measure at least 68" x 88". It can be bigger, not smaller.
A wide backing is a longarmer's dream! It is usually square and loads beautifully! I understand the need to piece backing is sometimes necessary but I have found that the more piecing on a backing the higher the chance of it not being square and I will have to spend extra time assuring it loads correctly on my frame. There will be a charge of $20.00 for any backing with more than 2 seams. If you have pieced your backing, please indicate if there is a top.
*Please note that I cannot guarantee that a quilt top and backing will be centered.
I offer Shannon Cuddle (minky) fabric in wide width-90" in many colors. It gives your quilts that extra special something that people love! Let me know if you'd like to add this backing fabric. $20/yd. *I will not accept pieced minky. A $10.00 charge per quilt will be applied if you choose to supply your own instead of purchasing through me because of the level of difficulty working with it.
TIDY IT UP!
Please press your top and backing for me so that it's nice and tidy and ready for me to load. Please also clip stray threads or raveling fabrics as best as you can. You might not be able to get them all, but to prevent dark threads from shadowing through your quilt top, please don't skip this important step!
Extra fees may apply if I need to put extra time and effort into getting your quilt ready to load. If you have questions, please ask.
*Fullness Disclaimer - Fullness and/or puckers within a quilt top cannot always be quilted out. I cannot guarantee that puckers and tucks won't be sewn in. In some cases excessive fullness in borders may result in quilt top corners not being square. The flatter your quilt top is, (ironing helps a lot) the better the finished quilt will turn out. Extra charges may be incurred for time spent.
I really want you to be satisfied with my work but it does take some prep on your part. Let's work together!
I want this to be fun for you and not overwhelming! You have the option of having me make the quilting decisions for you. It all depends on your purpose for the quilt, sometimes "done" is best!
The current rate for edge-to-edge quilting is 2.5¢ - 3¢ per square inch, depending on the pattern chosen. My minimum quilting charge is $50.
My current 2023 turnaround time is about 2 weeks.
Rush quilting is an additional $75 fee and will be completed within 3 days of receipt. I will confirm with you right away if I am unavailable.
Quilt backing must be at least 4" bigger than quilt top on all sides (8" extra both length AND width)
